Questions clients often ask
Straight answers to the questions we hear most often about working with Turkut Legal — languages, cross-border matters, ECHR and Constitutional Court procedure, and how to get started.
Is Turkut Legal a law firm? Can you represent me before a German court?
Turkut Legal is a legal consultancy registered with the Bundesamt für Justiz (BfJ) as a legal services provider under the German Legal Services Act (RDG). We provide strategic advice, expert legal opinions, and representation before international bodies such as the European Court of Human Rights and UN mechanisms, as well as before the Constitutional Court of Turkey. For proceedings that require a German Rechtsanwalt, we work with a trusted network of local counsel.
Do you work with clients who don't speak Turkish or German?
Yes. We work with clients in English, German, and Turkish, so language is rarely a barrier.
I'm not based in Germany or Turkey. Can you still help?
Yes. Much of our work is cross-border by nature. We regularly support clients navigating disputes or transactions spanning Turkish, German, and other European jurisdictions.
What's needed before applying to the ECHR or the Constitutional Court?
Both the European Court of Human Rights and the Constitutional Court of Turkey generally require that domestic legal remedies be exhausted first, and strict filing deadlines apply, so it's worth having your specific situation reviewed early.
Can you help with an INTERPOL Red Notice or CCF file?
Yes. We prepare and file applications to the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL's Files (CCF) — for deletion, correction, or access to the file — and advise on the extradition and asylum questions that often run alongside them.
Do you handle Constitutional Court (AYM) applications for people living abroad?
Yes. An individual application to the Constitutional Court of Turkey can be prepared and filed on your behalf regardless of where you live, provided the admissibility conditions and deadlines are met.
Do you only work with individuals, or also companies and NGOs?
Both. We serve private clients, investors, companies, and human rights NGOs across our practice areas.
